Senator Anderson for Integrity, Affordability, and Fairness

Oregon deserves better. I'll bring transparent leadership that protects workers without stifling economic progress.

Lower Housing Costs Through Smart Reforms

“By reducing unnecessary mandates that inflate costs by 20-30%, we’ll build more units faster, helping families, veterans, and workers afford homes amid our crisis—without compromising safety or quality.”

- Senator Anderson

ANDERSON WILL

Clarify and expand prevailing wage exemptions for affordable housing projects, aligning with the law’s original intent and spirit to stretch public dollars further.

Protect Workers
& Boost Efficiency

“I will streamline wage claim processing to clear all backlogs in the first year, strengthen protections against wage theft and discrimination, and dramatically expand apprenticeships for high-paying trades. I’ll enforce fair labor standards while cutting bureaucracy, supporting the union worker by creating more jobs through economic growth, not rigid interpretations that harm their own housing access.”

- Senator Anderson

ANDERSON WILL

While the current commissioner will not clear backlog of wage claims until 2029 at BEST,  Senator Anderson intends to deal with it all within 6 months.

Promote Equity & Opportunity

ANDERSON WILL

Enhance BOLI’s civil rights division to combat harassment and bias swiftly, while fostering partnerships with businesses to grow diverse, skilled workforces. Focus on rural Oregon’s needs, ensuring all regions benefit from balanced policies that prioritize people over politics.

Restore Integrity & End Corruption

“No more insider deals or undue influence from special interests—I’ll root out waste and ensure every decision serves Oregonians, not cronies.”

- Senator Anderson

ANDERSON WILL

Implement strict ethics reforms, including independent audits of BOLI decisions and full transparency in rule-making.

Solving Oregon's problems without creating burdens

After retirement, he was elected Mayor of Lincoln City where he:

The get-good-done legislator

Positive solutions for Oregonians

Elected twice as State Senator, he’s kept his promises and continues to work creatively to better life for all Oregonians.

Creating outside-the-box solutions

Champion for child care

Senator Anderson has been an unlikely hero of child care in the State.

“I see child care as essential to our workforce and our communities ability to create well paying jobs for our young people. I will continue to fight for child care for our rural and urban communities.”

The current BOLI Commissioner isn't helping things...

RESTORE INTEGRITY
& END CORRUPTION

There is one major road block in Oregon causing housing costs to continue to go up–the BOLI Commissioner. The current commissioner has overseen persistent mismanagement, including years-long backlogs in worker complaints, while prioritizing labor union bosses demands that drive up housing costs.

Current BOLI leadership is failing Oregonians. The news tells the story....

"Oregonians are squeezed by high costs—housing is unaffordable due to BOLI Commissioner-created red tape, and now gas taxes and fees rising. As your new Commissioner, I'll cut unnecessary burdens to lower costs for families and workers, not add to them like the current administration's allies."

- Senator Dick Anderson

“It is time to actually build affordable homes, pay workers fair wages and put Oregonians first, not politicians.”

- Senator Dick Anderson

Senator Anderson has spent his retirement years getting results that Oregonians actually appreciate — building a police station and hospital in Lincoln City at zero cost to taxpayers, passing landmark housing legislation that unlocked $2.5 billion for homes across the state, and securing $100 million to expand the Port of Coos Bay for good-paying union jobs. Before retiring, he managed 300+ people at Fannie Mae helping Northwest families get home loans.

Now he’s running for BOLI Commissioner with a clear mission: “BOLI doesn’t have a funding problem — it has a management problem. I will streamline wage theft cases and clear them in 6 months, not 4 years.”
